March seemed to have just breezed through but I’m glad I was able to finish my required readings for the month. Here’s a quick recap of my March list and their ratings:
- Harriet the Spy by Louise Fitzhugh. 4/5 stars. Harriet is a very interesting character and how she coped with the absence of Ole Golly is a matter worth pondering on.
- The Medusa Plot (39 Clues: Cahills vs. Vespers #1) by Gordon Korman . 3/5 stars. This middle grade book reminds me of my Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys days.
Now, let’s go to my April list.
April for me is a month of anniversaries. My boyfriend and I celebrated our 2nd year of togetherness last April 2. On April 15, the Goodreads-The Filipino Group of which I am a proud member will celebrate its 2nd anniversary (too bad I can’t attend, boo). On April 20, my parents will celebrate their 32nd wedding anniversary. On April 26, I will celebrate my 5th year in the law profession. Yay for anniversaries!
On that premise, my Required Reading list for this month will be books related to these anniversaries. I will still limit my list to two books because this will definitely be a busy month, busier than March, and I don’t want to stress myself more, considering that the wedding is a little more than a month away now!
Here’s my Required Reading list for April:
- The Oath by Frank Peretti. This was a gift from the boyfriend last year and I figure that since it’s our anniversary month, I will read a book Gian gave me. Plus, it’s the lent season so a Peretti book will be perfect for the occasion. 🙂
- True Colors by Kristin Hannah. This book was given to me last year by my lawyer/book lover friend, Monique, during the first anniversary of the Goodreads-The Filipino Group which fortunately, I was able to attend. Since I can’t attend in this year’s anniversary meet-up, I might as well read a book that can evoke fond memories of that very memorable meet up, haha!
Here are the posts of my friends who have also made their own required reading lists:
I hope I will continue to fare well in this required reading challenge. Wish me luck! 🙂
