When I started this feature in my blog this year, I was thinking of talking about paper books sent to me via couriers. But since I got an ebook reader a few months back, I figured that ebooks also rightfully belong to this category. So starting today, Books in the Mail will be talking about books — whether print or electronic — which I receive in my mailbox, including my Yahoo mailbox.
Last Friday, I got an ebook of Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro in my email from a very gracious and equally bookish friend, Atty. Monique, of Bookish Little Me. I already have a VCD of the movie adaptation but still haven’t gotten around to watching it. I am really not a purist with watching movies first before I read the books but, as much as I can, I still prefer the idea of having to read the book first before I watch the movie. So, when I received this book in my email as a token for agreeing to be featured in her blog’s The Spark Project, (of course, Monique, you need not ask twice; I am always willing to be featured as long as I talk about books, haha!) you can just imagine my delight! Of course, I gave her the idea that I want an Ishiguro book, and since she’s a certified Ishiguro fan, she recommends that I start with this book.Yay!
