LIKE NOBODY’S WATCHING by Tara Frejas

#ProjectPio is finally here!

Like Nobody’s Watching
Tara Frejas

Genre: Contemporary Romance / NA

Release Date: October 24, 2017

Book Cover Design: Miles Tan

Photography: Chi Yu Rodriguez

Model: Fred Lo

SYNOPSIS:

It’s all fun and games until someone catches feelings.

If there’s something Pio Alvez is good at, it’s pretending to be someone he’s not. On stage and on-screen, the actor has mastered the art of becoming the characters he plays, and his new role should be no different. After all, how difficult would it be to pretend to be smitten with a beautiful, intelligent go-getter like Audrey Alonzo?

Perhaps it’s more difficult pretending not to be.

MY THOUGHTS:

I had the opportunity to read in advance Like Nobody’s Watching and I am grateful for Tara Frejas for sending an ARC along my way. #ProjectPio certainly didn’t make me wait too long for its completion as the book that led to this spin-off about Pio Alvez, Waiting in the Wings, was released only last February. Tara Frejas surely has her hands full this year as far as her writing is concerned and I give her one snappy salute!

SPOILER: While I was unapologetically kilig with Ramon and Erin in Waiting in the Wings, I was also secretly hoping that Pio would also find his happily ever after. I can’t say (for now, or else I’ll be spoiling all of the fun) whether he actually did have a happy ever after, but what I can safely say is that Pio is one of a kind, nice guy — one you’d want to introduce to your mom. And to your friends. Or maybe not, because you might also want to keep him only for your self. Haha.

Like Nobody’s Watching was more intense, and should I say, mature especially in terms of writing those scenes — which also shows to prove that Tara Frejas is also pushing her limits with her stories. While Tara may not have taken too much time in finishing Project Pio, Audrey Alonzo definitely took hers when it came to making up her mind. No judgment for her, though, only that I can’t help feeling all heart-achey for Pio, oh you dear boy.

I enjoyed reading Like Nobody’s Watching. I am more of a certified Monfigs fan, though, but Pio was still able to deliver, in his own (cute) way, his own story — complete with winks, feels, smiles, and a little bit of tears.

My Rating: 3.5 stars.
