Other Book-Related Ramblings

The state of my (book) blogging affairs

I've been book-blogging for some 7 years now, and while the first few years were a frenzy of activity for me as a book blogger, the past couple of years has found me slacking off. I know I've been planning and meaning to be more religious in my blogging but I just could not keep up. I read faster than I can write "reviews" and somehow my thoughts always got muddled and I often tend to forget a book whenever I already found the time to sit down in front of the computer to write. There are so many great books I'd read that I wasn't able to write about (i.e. David Mitchell) and which I've chose...

Bookish Events Happening On Saturday, May 27

OMF Literature, my favorite publishing company for inspirational books, has prepared a series of events which will kick off on Saturday, May 27, 2017. Book tours, author meet and greets, art workshop, storytelling, and a book launch are what's waiting to happen, and my bookish heart just couldn't be more thrilled. Here's the schedule for Saturday, May 27, at Ayala Malls South Park Alabang (lifted from OMF Lit's Facebook post): "OMF Literature brings fun and excitement to your summer at the Ayala Malls South Park! On May 27, 2017, bring your children to enjoy an exciting storytelling,...

My 2017 Reading Goals

Last year, I decided to go easy on my reading. I only had two reading goals: a set number of books to read (40 books) and the TFG Bingo Challenge (which I was not able to finish.) I also used to have monthly "required" readings but I also chose to forego it last year. The results were good -- but I also kind of missed the challenge of having to finish a book on schedule. Most of all, I missed having bookish discussions with my other book club friends. So, this year, I want to be active again in the book discussions but I would go easy on the quantity of books I would want finish. Here are m...

My Year in Reading + My 10 Most Favorite Reads in 2016

The Reading Year That Was Being the slacker that I was, I failed to put up a reading goal post when this year started. But even if I may not have been the best book blogger there is, I can’t just not break tradition by not putting up this yearly list. 2016 has been great reading-wise despite my blogger failings, and I had enjoyed not having a set reading goal except for a fixed number of books to read (which I have surpassed months before the year ended.) I read books that caught my fancy and at my own pace. I didn’t hesitate to drop a book if I can’t seem to get into it and because of priori...

6 years and 1 day

[caption id="attachment_3034" align="aligncenter" width="359"] image not mine[/caption] Happy 6 years and 1 day, It's A Wonderful Bookworld! Nope, I didn't forget (I almost did, but thank God for Facebook Memories) and I meant to write a celebratory post yesterday but work (as always) got in the way. There are a lot of things happening in my life right now, most of them work and home-related, that my blogging had to take the backseat. I know it's been at the backseat since last year and no matter how I wanted to be dutifully  updating this blog, I had to prioritize things. It's even come t...
