CLOUD ATLAS | David Mitchell

I meant to write a post about this book after I finished reading it a few months back but I procrastinated because, to be honest, I was at a loss for words for the sheer brilliance of David Mitchell. I said that I'll gather my thoughts first because I wanted to come up with a write-up that would at least give justice to it but it's almost the end of the year but I haven't written even a sentence. So here I am, beating the (new year) buzzer, because Cloud Atlas is probably my best book for 2014 (I haven't seriously taken a look at my best reads for the year yet) and it would be lousy not to ha...

MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME: TWELVE HOLIDAY STORIES | edited by Stephanie Perkins

This is my second time to read a holiday-themed book for Christmas (the first was A Christmas CarolĀ  by Charles Dickens which I read a few years back before I started book-blogging), and I must say that I really enjoyed the experience. Reading My True Love Gave To Me in the days leading to Christmas was a perfect introduction to the holiday season because of all the feels. Quick Reviews: THE THIEF, CASE HISTORIES, & THE EYRE AFFAIR

I got a little bit stressed when I realized that it's almost the end of the year and I still haven't made substantial progress with my review backlog. This may sound to be very OC-ish but I wanted a clean slate for the new year with respect to my pending book reviews. A fresh start, so to speak, since I wanted to minimize, if not totally do away, with review backlogs for 2015. I'm actually tempted to just do away with no reviews (less stressful) but I also feel that every book I read deserves to be reviewed. So, as a solution, here is a 3-in-1 post of the books I've read recently that were nei...

WANDER GIRL | Tweet Sering

Summary from Goodreads: Since no self-respecting girl should let any setback stop her from following her heart, Hilda sets off on a journey that takes her through days of pining for the perfect job, over rough series of heartbreak and disappointment (not to mention bad sex), and even into foreign territory: passionate Frenchmen, adventurous half-Maoris, witty Brits. Armed only with an honest map to her own heart, it's a journey that eventually leads her to her true calling, her true self, and true love. A friend Kindle gifted me a copy of this book for my birthday and since I had lately be...

DWELLERS | Eliza Victoria

Summary from Goodreads: Rule No. 1: You don't kill the body you inhabit. Rule No. 2: You should never again mention your previous name. Rule No. 3: You don't ever talk about your previous life. Ever. The takeover leads to a car crash, injuring Jonah's legs and forcing them to stay in the brothers' house for the time being. The street is quiet. The neighbors aren't nosy. Everything is okay. They are safe, for now. Until they find a dead body in the basement. After reading A Bot...
