Wednesday Diaries: Harry Potter, old books & new, and a wishlist

Hohoho! Because we, Filipinos, are more excited about Christmas than the rest of the world (we start celebrating in September, haha) ~ MERRY CHRISTMAS! :) I've recently finished rereading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(the book club will be having a Harry Potter Christmas) and I enjoyed it, although I was not as impressed as I had been the first time I read it which was like, five years ago.  Still, the spells are a delight to read (I am tempted to use the limb-lock spell for the stray cat who kept trying to get inside the house) and I was always fascinated by Quidditch. It was a fun r...

REQUIRED READING: December 2013

Hohoho! I can't believe it's almost Christmas! I still am continuing to pray for those devastated by the super typhoon last month, but slowly by slowly I believe the nation is bravely trudging on towards recovery because we are a resilient people, yes? And Christmas reminds us of the hope that we have in Him who is the real reason for the season. books in the mail, again!

YAAAY!!! Books will always be one of the best gifts I will ever receive. Just last week, I received books in the mail from a dear friend, Tricia, who also maintains a beautiful book blog (I love the layout!). And then today the mailman delivered another set of books for me. (I think I'm the only one at the office who gets to receive books in the mail, hee). Thank you sooo much! :) I am going to show ...

books in the mail!

This year, I have been receiving books in the mail more than the usual (the usual being  never, haha), and each time the sight of a parcel in my table has never failed to make me squee in delight. Who wouldn't? These are books, man. BOOKS! :D So, this morning I was greeted by this wonderful sight (again) at my table. Even if I had been expecting this package to arrive (the sender already forewarned me the day before) still, I am delighted and (mildly) surprised. Surprises. Don't we all love them (sometimes)? Here is what's inside of the package. Squee with me again. :D [caption id="attachme...

my bookish Christmas wishlist ;)

It's December already, how time flies! It seems like yesterday (okay, just a few months ago) when I posted my Christmas wishlist for 2010. Come to think of it, out of the nine titles I wished for last Christmas, I was able to get 6 copies all for free! I thank all the kindred souls who gifted me with the books on my 2010 wishlist. Here's a roundup of the books from my list that I was able to get this year: Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson - from Jzhun (HB) Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins - from K.D. (HB) Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins - from K.D. (HB) Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli - from Mari...
