THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER/Stephen Chbosky

I have a confession to make. I have been taken by the cute cover of the paperback edition of this book and this is the primary reason why I got curious about it in the first place. You must know, I am not quirky when it comes to book covers but there are times, like this one, when a cute cover actually makes me take a second (longer) look at a book. I was able to get hold of a free ebook, and although my copy does not have that cute cover in it, I am still glad I got my curiosity satiated. All along, I thought that The Perks Of Being A Wallflower is just a typical coming-of-age story, not ...

CHICKEN SOUP FOR THE BRIDE’S SOUL

I am an anxious bride-to-be. With only two weeks left before the big day, and as much as I want to be calm and cool, I just can’t, as evidenced by the appearance of rashes on my legs and back. Experience tells me that my skin allergies always enjoy making a show whenever I am stressed out. So, reading this book has served, indeed,  as a “chicken soup” to my restless soul. The stories included in this edition of the renowned Chicken Soup for the Soul have made me laugh, some made me teary-eyed, but most of all, they taught me life lessons that I can live with for the rest of my marriag...

CORALINE/Neil Gaiman

Finally. For several times already, I have attempted to finish this short novella but it was only yesterday that I was able to finish it. It’s not that Coraline is an uninteresting story, it is actually the far opposite, except that my eyes can stand the strain of reading from the computer. It’s a good thing that I already have a handy Kindle to read all the other unfinished ebooks in my computer, including this one. So, Coraline Jones. She is the main character in this really creepy story which is supposed to be for children but adults like me can also absolutely relate with (and be ...

LOVE, STARGIRL/Jerry Spinelli

Love, Stargirl is the touching sequel to Stargirl, the latter I have read a few months back. I wanted to read this book right after I finished the first book except that I wasn’t able to finish it quickly (it’s just a short novel) because my eyes won’t cooperate with me while I read from the computer. So I had to wait for my Kindle gift (yay!) to arrive to finally finish this wonderful story of a seemingly eccentric girl who fell in love with a boy named Leo Borlock. And yes, this is the first book I read from Elle, my Kindle. ;) The sequel picks up one year after Stargirl (Susan) Car...

lookie here at what I got! ♥

[caption id="attachment_847" align="aligncenter" width="300"] weeee! :)[/caption] Finally, the (not-so) long wait is over. Earlier this morning, I held in my hands this reading gadget I have been coveting praying for since last year. The Lord is indeed gracious to me for giving me generous friends such as a church-mate and fellow IVCFer (short for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship) who's now in the US and gave me this wonderful gift.  I am overwhelmed by God's surprises! Let's take a look at what's inside: YAAAY!!! ♥ I still have to find time, though, to read the user's guide, considering tha...
