My 2017 Reading Goals

Last year, I decided to go easy on my reading. I only had two reading goals: a set number of books to read (40 books) and the TFG Bingo Challenge (which I was not able to finish.) I also used to have monthly "required" readings but I also chose to forego it last year. The results were good -- but I also kind of missed the challenge of having to finish a book on schedule. Most of all, I missed having bookish discussions with my other book club friends. So, this year, I want to be active again in the book discussions but I would go easy on the quantity of books I would want finish. Here are m...

My Midyear Reading Update + Required Reading: July 2015

I vaguely remember doing a midyear reading update in the past but I cannot recall the exact year. I tried doing a search of my archives but I can't seem to find one. Anyway, I will do such a post for this year because this is the year which I feel that I am at my best, reading-wise. Here are the reading goals I laid down last January and my progress report for each: Read at least 24 books. I reached this number even before the month of June ended. I felt underwhelmed by my early finish, I doubled this number and made 48 books as my new reading goal on Goodreads. :D I think my fast pace was ...

Required Reading: June 2015

Hello there! I should be doing something aside from blogging because I have weekend classes, but I can't seem to quiet the nagging voice inside my blogger's head, so here's the mandatory start-of-the-month  required reading post, albeit six days late. But first I recap of my May readings: Required Readings: The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins. 3/5 stars. Good premise but not so good ending. I mostly enjoyed the first parts before the "big reveal." A thrilling read, nonetheless. Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. 3/5 stars. A poignant read ...

Required Reading: May 2015

Hi, everyone! April was, surprisingly, an awesome reading month for me as I was able to finish the two books on my reading list and then I found out that I still had enough time before the month ended, so I squeezed in (and finished!)  a few more additional books and novellas. (Alas, I cannot say the same about my review backlog.) My reading this month became a breeze because of the summer break which meant I had more time during evenings and because halfway through the month, my book club held a reading marathon of YA books so I joined in the fun. Doing so made me realize how much I missed r...

2014 Required Reading: February

Oh, February! Bring in the feels, will ya? :) My January Required Reading Report Last month was an awesome reading month, regardless of the fact that my heart got broken into pieces. A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin. 5/5 stars. I am still nursing a broken heart, so don't you dare get on my nerves. </3 Just One Day by Gayle Forman. 3/5 stars. A melancholic read about self-discovery, fate and accidents, and Paris! My adult self want to spank Allyson for her carelessness, but I'm giving her enough allowances because I have yet to read its companion book, Just One Year. Will come ...
